I was talking with a friend the other week whom I hadn’t seen in a good while and the state of the economy naturally came up. He got around to telling me about a large corporate who was feeling the pinch and got the consultants in. Well the consultants came back with a scheme to save money and to enthuse the work force – Every Dollar Counts.
I found this really funny because every dollar always counts regardless of what the economic situation is. It seemed to me like a completely idiotic phrase. Did they deliberately run their business prior to the recession to achieve profligate wastage? I doubt it, given their fiduciary and legal responsibilities to their shareholders.
