I like: Sound of Detroit – Carhartt

Sound of Detroit – Carhartt, originally uploaded by renaissancechambara.

Carhartt Europe have come up with an interesting t-shirt design for their autumn and winter collection. The design evokes the white label 12″ record that one would have likely found Detroit techno from the likes of Juan Akin, Kevin Saunderson or Carl Craig – providing a very distinctive European interpretation on the ‘sound of Detroit’.

This is in sharp contrast to the silence of this former industrial centre which is home to bankrupt US automakers and which in better times played host to the original hit factory of Motown Records which was the soundtrack that broke barriers and provided the format for pop music over the past 50 years or so.
