Jargon Watch: HIPPO Syndrome

I was attending the Echo Research 20th anniversary thought leadership seminar when I heard Rita Clifton of Interbrand mention the HIPPO Syndrome. Clifton mentioned meeting people from Google who apparently said all the data that they are sitting on means that they never are likely to succumb to HIPPO syndrome. HIPPO in this case means ‘HIghest Paid Person’s Opinion’.

They say that like its a bad thing? I am sure Steve Jobs would beg to differ.

renaissance chambara | Ged Carroll - Created by Ged and offered to surfers (or whatever folks do on the 'web now) under a BSD licence. From a technology perspective this site like so many others is powered by WordPress and supercharged with caffiene. It looks minimalist, yet aesthetically pleasing thanks to a slightly tweaked version of DePo Skinny Theme designed by the talented Mr Powazek. The site is hosted on a grid service by the clever people at Media Temple (mt).
