Your client has sent you over a revised 99-page briefing document for a detail-orientated, data-centric spokesperson at 6:30 in the evening for your press trip and you want to understand where the changes are. Unfortunately they don’t like track changes in Word. A way around this was well demonstrated by Charles Arthur over at The Guardian using a Unix utility called diff. You don’t need to be a code god (but it always helps) as there are more user friendly options available. More information here.
