Facebook places: in their own words

Facebook have released a video to explain the hows and wherefores of their new location-based service addition to the social network Godzilla. You could argue about whether this is sharing too much in one place or what kind of privacy car-crash Facebook will make out of location data but that is for a another time. Here’s the video:

  1. scary…but no different than dodgeball or 4sq in its premise. But Facebook will clearly make it easy for people to stalk one another

  2. The middleware positioning also reminded me a bit of Fire Eagle. The big issue is that I just don’t trust Facebook from the stalking aspect and from their lack of boundaries.
