Manuel Göttsching Solo @ 798

798 is a former armaments factory built by East German engineers in Beijing in the early part of Mao Zetong’s leadership of China during the 1950s (before they had a bad falling out with the then Soviet Union). The buildings are now a series of galleries and workshops for artists (think a better funded, more successful, more commercial version of the Truman Brewery in London).

In 2008 the German government brought out Manuel Göttsching as part of an event to celebrate German culture by hosting Goethe Night. This video is about 10 minutes of a performance he gave of his classical work E2-E4. Enjoy.
