China Out in the Cold

The latest round of licences for developing Libya’s oil and gas reserves have been split between the US and European interests. (registration required for washingtonpost.com)

This is in marked contrast the success that Asian energy companies like Sinopec have had elsewhere. The appointment of licences to Exxon, Statoil and Total is as much about Libya’s desire to come in from the diplomatic cold as it is about business.

  1. Just found your site today. Was directed to it by a search engine while looking for a song by ESG. Anyhow, I took an interest in your music list from December of last year. You have very, very, good taste in music. I have many of the songs listed. Some are on 12 inch vinyl and some on 7″. Many are on various CDs that I own. Do you remember the song Is It All Over My Face by Loose Joints? How about Treat by Martin Circus? Based on your taste, I think I can name a lot more that I have that you’d remember and like. Anyhow, would love to talk to you about music from the day. Oh, I am originally from Newark, NJ and use to go to the Paradise Garage among other clubs in the reigion. Keep in touch. Alisa
