Prior to 9/11 pretty much every executive’s brief case featured a Swiss Army knife of some sort. Its iconic red plastic sides and shield in the cross logo is one of the iconic designs of the 20th century.
These executive multi-tools trade on the reputation of the Swiss Army soldier’s knife issued as a standard piece of military equipment. The previous version was designed in the 1950s with textured aluminium handle sides and a spartan selection of knife blades.
50 years later and the Swiss government thought that a redesign was in order. This 21st century update is much more ergonomic featuring easy grip sides and an easy-to-open blade and some no-nonsense features.
