The Face, Malcolm McLaren and social media

The team behind the Test Pressing blog have the most amazing back catalogue of seminal content from the 1980s onwards. One posting that particularly caught my eye was an interview with Malcolm McLaren published in The Face magazine (June 1983).
Malcolm McLaren could have been talking about social media
Just imagine what chaos and mayhem McLaren could have done if Facebook was around at a time when record companies still had cash that he could get out of them. You could have a genre of fictional speculation on ideas such as these: ‘social punk’, like steam punk, but instead of mechanics and pneumatics you have modern social software-type things.
