Saleforce.com is a company that I have a lot of respect for. They believed in cloud computing and the web back when software as a service (SaaS) providers were called application service providers (ASPs). They have weathered the consolidation of enterprise software providers and championed enterprise 2.0.
I was looking at the front of the Wall Street Journal Europe on a Monday morning and my eyes latched on to a mean looking small blue ad at the bottom of the front page. The design and the logo looked really generic like it was bought from one of the half dozen services Wired magazine had reviewed a number of years ago that churn out designs in India for buttons.
I had to crank the colour and contrast up in the photo to make the advert visible against the grey of the paper, but I don’t think this will be finding its way into any graphic designer’s portfolio soon. It’s a shame because Chatter.com deserves better.
