Ok, not quite, but things are starting to look more ‘interesting’ for the company and its Lumia range of phones. Samsung’s new Focus 2 Windows Phone has improved the product design and performance of its original offerings in this space. The Focus 2 has started to have good reviews compared to the other phones in the Windows eco-system. For US consumers the price of the Focus 2 is very competitive at just $50 on an AT&T contract.
Combine that with Samsung’s current position as the world’s largest phone manufacturer with an excellent supply chain and carrier relationships, the company’s healthy balance sheet, opportunities for vertical integration and wealth of products that consumers can be up-or-cross sold to and Nokia’s position in Windows Phone looks much harder to defend.
