US Army looks to PR its way to future victories

Wired’s Dangeroom blog did a critique of an internal ongoing Pentagon study into the Afghanistan conflict. Two of the big things that came out was that the US military didn’t do a particularly good job at public relations and could do with more consumer insights  from the local population rather than focusing exclusively on who their enemy was and how best to kill them.

It was interesting that these things came above more traditional military aspects like equipment deficiencies or logistical challenges and are likely to be key in shaping their approach to future campaigns.
