A place in the boardroom when it matters

I read the Telegraph’s coverage of the Marks & Spencers results leak with interest. The bit of the article I thought of most interest was:

The advice from company lawyer Slaughter & May and brokers, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley, was unequivocal: Bolland would have to rush out his announcement that evening, however cringingly embarrassing that was for a FTSE-100 company.

There is no PR agency mentioned providing counsel when it would be of most need. Now this maybe an oversight in the article or it maybe that PR’s place in the M&S boardroom needs a firmer seat?
