Jargon watch: data deluge gap

The data deluge gap was how EE Times referred to the mismatch between wireless edge connectivity and information being stored versus the network infrastructure’s ability to connect the two:

growth in storage capacity and network traffic is far outstripping the infrastructure build-out required to support it

This is as much an economic issue as it is a technological one, particularly as ARPU numbers are stubbornly stagnant.
