Ice Cube appearing in a video for Vanity Fair, critiquing interpretations of NWA lyrics on Rap Genius. Its great the way Ice Cube handles it with such good humour.
<br>Great video on the design of signage and what it means. We don’t think about the typography and materials of signs. It reminded me of the disappearing neon sign culture of Hong Kong. In this respect they are similar to the vision that Netscape aspired to with its ‘browser as operating system’, which terrified Microsoft. There is a level of hyper-intensity to it. I also love the way it contrasts digital experiences with analogue life on the farm when the protagonist is calling out to a friend. <br><iframe loading="lazy" src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/135228635?color=f6fa05&title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="700" height="393" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"><br>Interesting product designs using passive plastic cases to control devices through sound. It is interesting how they use touch to affect sound that would work with programmes listening for sound. I like the way it turns converged devices into single purpose devices. This would be ideal for kiosks or embedded systems. It also offers opportunity for performance controls for things like synthesisers.
